Grant reporting is unforgiving: the same figure appears in four places under three names, and a report that does not add up comes back weeks later with the deadline gone. Grantforge takes your revenue and expense figures once, computes every derived total, and runs the same consistency checks a reviewer runs — then states plainly what it found and what it did not find.
01 / WHAT IT CHECKS
Eight checks that catch what midnight arithmetic misses
Every derived total is computed from the categories you enter. Grantforge then verifies that the figures are internally consistent and that the expense ratios fall within CPB guidelines.
- NFFS components sum matches the displayed NFFS total
- Revenue line items sum to Total Revenue
- Expense line items sum to Total Expenses
- Programming expense ratio is at least 70% of total expenses
- Fundraising ratio does not exceed 10% of total expenses
- Management & General ratio does not exceed 15% of total expenses
- NFFS does not exceed Total Revenue
- Data has actually been entered
02 / WHAT IT WILL NOT DO
It checks arithmetic. That is all.
Grantforge is a verification tool, not a filing service. It does not submit anything to any grant-making body, connect to any grant portal, store your figures after the tab closes, or give legal or accounting advice. The figures and the filing are the filer's responsibility.
It also cannot check what is not entered. If a category is omitted or mislabelled, the tool has no way to know. Review the output against your official records before filing.
Can it replace my accountant or compliance officer?
No. Grantforge checks arithmetic consistency — it does not audit whether a figure is correct, only whether the numbers agree with each other. A transposed digit that was entered consistently will pass every check. Always review the draft report against your source documents before filing.
